David Mashburn is a graphic designer and team leader. He has spent the last twenty years creating iconic design work across advertising; branding; motion graphics; and environmental, editorial, book, and digital product designs for clients such as Verizon, Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Fujifilm, Christies, Rizzoli, Kraft foods, Godiva and MGM Resorts.

Early in his career at Duffy, he created the identity for The Islands of the Bahamas and Fallon’s first animated TV campaign for Starbucks Doubleshot. Working independently, Mashburn spent several years collaborating with agencies such as Droga 5, BBH, Chiat Day, BBDO, Mother, JWT, Havas, SS+K, and McCann, helping them develop branding and visual identity systems. Mashburn’s work has been published in Eye Magazine, Idea magazine, Graphics, Print and the AIGA.

David joined mccann in 2014 with long time partner George Katz. As co design directors, Mashburn and Katz were instrumental in establishing and growing the design department, prioritizing team building and collaboration in the creative process. Their work has received major awards from organizations such as The One Club, D&AD, Clios, and Cannes—including four Grand Prix Lions.

David is currently working independently, providing design services for Brands and Agencies. On big and small projects he believes that successful initiatives are not built by one; they are empowered by many.
